What a super, wonderful day to stumble upon the QWF blog! Something great happened to me today - but it has nothing to do with black crocodile birkin bags, Kombucha, or Bradley Cooper. After putting "quality of life" over the amount of risk involved, my oncologist sent me to an endocrinologist who has loaded me up with hormones. I am going to start slowly, but soon I will be energetic, sharp-minded, less irritable, less sleep-deprived, and as horny as the rest of you! :)
In 20-25 years or so, when you all need to know whether hormone replacement therapy or bioidentical hormone replacement therapy is safer and more effective, I will be your source of information.

Nutty Flavor

It was so good to "hear" from Susan. My first secretary would always say, "DYYNA, Ms. Witless is on the phone for you!" I loved that. She would also cite my dictation very phonetically. For example, when I was working on a Catholic Church case, she would write "X-communicate" a lot.

With regards to eating, I made the kids yet another healthy meal of brown rice with apricots and mushrooms, edamame, etc. Henry looked up from his plate and asked me "what the main ingredient was here" and then told me,"You can do a lot better than this." His tone was one of utter disgust. Don't think I did not withold the yummy Quinoa coffee cake that I had prepared for an after dinner treat. Luckily for him, it was di-sgusting. I have decided that all "healthy" treats taste like crap -- the recipes usually describe them as having a "nutty flavor." "Nutty Flavor" is code for sh**ty - don't fall for the "nutty flavor" trap.

Bonus Tip of the Day: Be especially wary of abnormal flours -- quinoa flour, brown rice flour, tapioca flour. These flours are overpriced and crappy.

On a happy note, Kirsten has found Kombucha -- see earlier post regarding fermented tea -- would love to hear her description.

The good news about summer ending is that my shows are back on. Please take a moment to set your Tivo's for Bravo's Flipping Out and Lifetime's Project Runway -- Project Zoe on Bravo is also fantacit if you like idiot TV as I obviously do. In case you are wondering, I do not watch soap operas or TV during the day. I just tape these low brow shows and watch after Chris's narcolepsy has set in. I always let him have the flicker -- this gives me a lot of points -- and 85% of the time, he falls asleep within 10 minutes and I slowly remove the flicker and the tube is mine. Try it yourself one night.

Hope all is well with you girls and hope these tips will improve your quality of life,

Dinah

Wittless, it is

This is embarrassing. I LOVE our blog and yet I have not posted or read in over 2 months. I did just have a blast catching up on what everyone had to say, and I pledge/promise/commit to stay on it!!! Call me out if I break that one, please. Now I just need to make sure that I don't deserve the name wittless that every person who tries to take my name down writes....I'm afraid only DBK deserves the quickwit title but the rest of us can try our best to get there.

We have been ramblers most all summer and just got back in town last night. That is my excuse. (And if I were anywhere near the multitasking world traveler that Allison is I would have been blogging from afar. But alas. Not so good on that front). After all the debauchery of this summer I am going to be a vegan swimmer and join in to the madness. That will probably last less than 2 hours, but it sure does sound good.

As we were making our cross country drive yesterday with the whole family in tow, looking and acting like the Griswolds, we entertained ourselves by having everyone guess each other's favorite foods. I had the kids going with random clues trying to guess my favorite dessert from childhood -- the all healthy chocolate mousse with LOTS of whipped cream -- until I started craving that and every other bite of sin we named. So I solved that problem today by buying a big container of chocolate mousse from central market and eating most of it myself for lunch. And THEN I log on to all the healthy postings..... I think I'll skip dinner tonight...

I Hate Delta Airlines

OK....since my blood pressure is near off the charts (see title of blog) I decided to check on my favorite blog for some well needed humor.  It did not disappoint!  The B12 did nothing for my waistline after all that drama.  However, it could have been the 2 dozen macaroons I devoured in 72 hours in Paris.  Not to mention the copious amounts of champagne and other various libations.  Europe was a blast.  Monte Carlo is not to be described.  I do believe there is no other place on earth with that amount of concentrated wealth.  Probably Dubai from what I've been told but I've never been there.  Perfect example....Debra and I went to the Hermes store a few times while there and noticed a black CROCODILE birkin bag with pave DIAMOND hardware with a reserved tag in front of it.   On the 3rd trip it was gone.  We didn't realize that we had already been locked in the store while a maybe 25 year old was paying for it!  She was some type of middle easterner in juicy flip flops with an entourage!  It was wild!

I might have worked off the macaroons today sprinting through the Atlanta airport today only to be told we missed our flight after waiting 6 hours in the Asheville airport.  I'm now in the Atlanta airport for a mere 7 more hours.  Are you kidding me?  Gotta run to the A terminal.

O, to eat cookie dough and pretzels again . . .

I love the stories about cookie dough, ice cream, and soft pretzels. It makes me remember the good old days. The reason that you 2 can laugh about it is because you wear teeny-tiny clothes -- probably children's sizes -- and therefore those splurges mean nothing. As a girl who has not seen single digit clothes in 9 years and could NEVER where something with a "s" in the lable, it is more of a problem. Hence, I am now trying to talk myself into being crazy healthy. I think an obsession like this could be beneficial.

Allison, you are a mo-ron. WTH letting anyone stick a needle in you? -- unless it is filled with botox or restalyne, of course. I am so glad you made it -- thank God that little cottage of yours still needs some work so that your new bffs/a-v guys were there. Since you made it, I have to ask, did you feel skinny? (just kidding).

My partial veganism is kind of making my kids turn against me. Last week I made some grilled vegetables and avocados and served them with corn tortillas for dinner -- watermelon for dessert. Needless to say, there was some grumbling -- many questions involving, "where is the meat?" "cheese, maybe?". Don't worry, I make them take vitamins. The next day, I stayed at my parents' house and Chris fed them burgers, milkshakes, and steaks for dinner. Henry proudly told me that he did not eat one vegetable or piece of fruit the entire day. Being the only girl makes getting my message accross a little difficult. I will win though.

My favorite treat though is the drink Kombucha. Whole Foods sells it. Synergy is the best brand and Divine Grape is the best flavor. Kirsten, go try one. It takes just a tiny bit of time to get used to, but it gives you a tiny little buzz/relaxing moment. My friend Courtney says it is like drinking Champagne for breakfast. Good stuff.

If you are wondering, I am still a fatty, fatty, 2 x 4, but I am working on it. I will likely become a swimsuit model in a few years. I won't be able to do bikini work because of all of the stretchmarks and cellulite, but could do some maternity suits with skirts, old lady suits with padded bras, etc. Someone has to do it.

Hope to see you all soon.

No Guilt

This is a guilt free blog as far as I'm concerned.  Don't think for 2 seconds I have decent eating habits.  Last night at yet another baseball game I had nachos, soft pretzels, and carvel ice cream for dinner.  I am the ultimate in poor eating habits.  I just fake it a lot of the time.

Just for a good laugh......since I am crazy.  B12 shots are all the rage here in Tampa.  Since I don't want to be left out when everyone else is dropping pounds, I had to jump in.  I figured B12 is a harmless vitamin, right?  Well the first shot was fine.  I felt great, lots of energy and it's supposed to increase your metabolism.  HOWEVER,  I had one today and almost called 911!  I was on fire all over my body and was trying to rush upstairs for some benedryl when I darn near passed out.  I ended up on the floor of my bathroom before my friend Dana got to me with some Claritin.  I admit it was scary.  Even the A/V guys were worried!  I knew someone would find me within minutes if I did pass out since there are still 10 subs here everyday so I wasn't too concerned.  I guess that's one plus about living with strange men.

Raw Cookie Dough Diet

Ugh. And I thought this was a safe haven....

The girls and I just made a batch of Nestle Toll House Cookie Dough (I am totally embarrassed to say that I know the recipe from memory). Jack has been at camp this week and so we thought, what better way to show our love and that we missed him than to polish off an entire batch of cookies on the way up in the car to get him tomorrow. Oh, sure , we'll save him a few. :)

My problem is this. There is seriously nothing better than that dough - threats of salmonella be d@mned. Having just polished off what seems like a cup of the fresh gooey dough, I am now thoroughly ill and I'm coming down with a migraine. I'm also thinking that I won't be able to look at any other food for at least a few hours.

So...I went to the one place I thought I'd be safe to feel so gross and gluttonous - my quick wit friends - only to be immediately bombarded by scary words and phrases like:

"Vegan" "Tofurkey" "Calorie counting armbands" and "Smart food choices."

Based on that reading, my only solace is the low protein involved here in my choice of breakfast foods this morning. Since there are only 2 eggs in the entire batch of dough, I couldn't possibly have consumed more than 1/2 a raw egg in total. I'm also hoping I get some points for the "raw" aspect of my poor food choice this morning. I heard that "raw" diets are all the rage in LA. I'm assuming raw cookie dough would be considered a suitable dessert on this diet, yes?

Ladies, if you are going to post such scary topics in the future, please post a warning at the top of the post.

xoxo

Slacker Blogger

OK...I feel rather guilty, but I haven't logged on in so long that I'd missed several blogs.  I admit it was a lot of fun to read a bunch all at once.  My children think I'm nuts because I am hiding in the closet laughing out loud.  The thought of Dinah in a weight vest, armband, visor and sunglasses is priceless!

Kirsten....Happy Birthday and I am just around the corner!  Yuck!

While I am living in the house, temporarily really since we have been in and out so much this summer, it is not without some major glitches.  For example....on my return this past Sunday none (not one) of the (many) TVs in the house would turn on.  I could hear what was on a channel but could not see anything nor could I change the said channel.  After that was fixed (?), tonight I tried to turn off the lights in one room and it turned off the TVs in 2 other rooms.  Neat!  Certainly I could have alot more problems, like swine flu, so I'm not going to complain.  Or I will try not to complain too much.  Living with sub contractors has really been a joy.

Christi....I admire your courage and stamina in the pool.  I get worn out just thinking about swimming a lap.  Can you wear that armband in the water?  It might encourage me to jump in.

Dinah, I have spent the past 5 years starving from Monday to Thurs/Friday only to gain it all back by Sunday night.  I didn't even need an armband to figure it out!  I admit to being obsessed with the scale for quite some time.  I think a Lay's potato chip is healthy in the grand scheme of things.  For me it is usually the lesser of 2 evils and I will pick a potato with a little salt and oil any day.  Its only 3 ingredients so it can't be that bad, right?  My main problem is that I find myself in horrible food choice situations.  Like tonight...200 crew people at a Rays's baseball game.  You can only imagine the food choices.  What am I supposed to do? Starve?  At least I stayed away from the beer!  I admit that those vegans are very cultish but I am going to have to agree with their protein theory.  What about some beans every now and then?  I can't do peanut butter....I have no will power and will eat the entire jar.  The fake hot dogs are pretty good with a lot of mustard.  Have you tried the sprouted grain breads/tortillas?  Not bad.

I'm going to go see if I can turn off some more lights without starting the microwave!

XO
Allison

Part-time Vegan

This post is mostly for Allison, because she is also a part-time vegan. Others of you may have tried this torture, so I would love for you to chime in. Let me lay the groundwork. I have read several books on the topic of meat and dairy free diets. My favorite is Eat to Live, by the way. I have been toying with this for at least 2 years -- probably more -- but just could not give up fun food. It has stuck more now, because I have done it long enough that I am no longer wanting fried chicken (the only chicken that I like), etc. I have also tried to really cut down on the wheat products -- not allergic, just have a tiny, tiny quantity control problem with items like pop tarts, bagels, donuts, all snack items that you store in your pantry, etc. Complete abstinence seems to be the best goal. Having said all of that I have lost a total of 6.3 pounds doing that and wearing my arm-band thingy. The reason I tell you that is because that is a minuscule amount of weight in 2 months for the amount of deprivation I have endured and, therefore, this plan may be a waste of time. Anyhoo. I have 2 issues

Allison, I too cannot stand any vegetable protein except tofu (barely), edamame, soy milk. I therefore get some protein in the morning from my berries, kashi go lean, and soy milk, broccoli in the afternoon, and an occasional piece of fish. Will that work? Are you doing better -- protein shake, peanut butter (my fat ass cannot handle a lot of peanut butter, I have to watch calories too, damn it). Based on your voicemail, the tofurkey was not a big hit. Let me tell you, I almost vomited when I tried some tempeh last week. It is God-awful. I can do Morningstar fake chicken nuggets and sausage, but who wants those food items anyway? I would like a pill of protein if you can find it. Most vegetarians say you do not need that much protein, but it is hard to trust that -- they are a little cultist, if you know what I mean. I mean that with all due respect.

Finally, this plan keeps me full most of time, but sometimes I am starving my ass off. 2 pounds of grilled vegetables plus 2 cups of berries is sometimes just not enough. Do you have this same problem. As an aside, it is during this time, that I convince myself that Lays Potato chips could qualify as a healthy vegetable. So, it is best that I do not reach this point.

Any comments? Gracias, Dinah

RIP: Michael, Farrah, and Ed

In response to Dinah's comment, I have to say that I was sentimental about the passing of MJ. He had such an influence in the world of music, and I can't count how many times I watched his videos when MTV was the big thing. Michael and I went to his 20th high school reunion this weekend, and there was so much MJ being played. At the reunion, at the post-reunion party bar, and on XM Sirius radio on the way there and home . . . .

Dinah, what camp does Hudson go to and how long was he gone? It was clearly was long enough to forget you but still love you - that's so sweet. I loved camp when I was growing up!

As for swimming, I, too, would prefer my own lane, and if I go at the right time, I can have one. But, I haven't figured out when that perfect time is. I am like you - I ran into the lane divider several times, and the ones at SMU are kind of heavy. But, swimming is really such a great sport, and I am really loving it!

Do you Vanderbilt people know Derek Davis? He is, yet another, Commodore from Michael's high school - he was a year behind us. I didn't know him at Vanderbilt, but he was at the reunion, and it was nice to meet him. Hope you are all doing very well and staying cool! ;)

"I forgot I had parents , no offense"

That is what Hudson told me when I picked him up from camp last week. Granted, he said he loved me and that I was the best mom ever, it is just that camp was so much fun . . . Time flies.

Christy, I find that swimming is way too intimidating for the circle or share a lane issue. I am always worried that I am going to kick someone or they will kick me. So, I typically overcompensate and hit or kick the lane line or the wall. It is just too much. I am impressed that you do that.

Finally, this is a brief post because I am still mourning the loss of Farrah and Michael. That Farrah was truly the most beautiful girl during the Charlie's Angels days. Mesmerizing. Michael was a good dancer and cute member of the Jackson 5. His other "issues" make him less sympathetic, for sure.

Hope all is well. D

I've Apparently Joined your Decade, Kirsten

Sestak swimming adventure, number two. I am happily swimming along just a little while ago, when a group of HPHS girls say to me: "Ma'am, can we 'circle' with you?" For a second, I felt really cool because I knew what circling meant - a guy had just said it to me a little earlier. (In case you don't know, if there are just two of you in a lane, you can stay on your side and just swim back and forth. If there are more than two, then you swim in a oblong circle - everyone stays on the right side back and forth).

But, then the reality sunk in that they called me "ma'am." I think it is super polite when I hear a younger person with good manners, but I feel so old when being referred to as "ma'am," (especially when chugging along in a frumpy one-piece)! After 20 laps (100 meters per lap), I am more than happy to join your decade! :)

Happy Belated Birthday, Kirsten!

Okay, I know when your birthday is, I just never know what the date of the current day is. Like, I know today is Tuesday and I know it is still June and I know the 4th of July is on a Saturday. That is all I really have right now. So, sorry I missed at least a shout out.

I still love Hotair.com -- the sarcasm makes me happy. I am more obsessed with my armband calorie counter thing, however. After wearing it for a week, really tracking the calories I am eating, and analyzing calorie out vs. in and weight loss vs. weight gain, I have come to a very sad conclusion. It takes forever to lose a little weight and that is if you are trying really hard, i.e., eating less and exercising when you do not want to. It takes almost no effort to gain a lot of weight. For example, I had 4 days of 1200 calorie deficits and lost 1.2 pounds -- that is right, about .3 a day. The next day, I broke even (father's day brunch) and, guess what?, that led to a 2.2. pound weight gain. Mother Hummer. Needless to say, I am a little frustrated. Plus, I walk with a black weight vest on, a black visor, my black armband and corresponding wrist watch and sunglasses -- looks like I am trying out for Terminator. For what? A measly .3 pounds! It makes me want to snatch that Sprinkles cupcake out of your skinny 40 something hand.

Other than that, I am good. No problems.

I will keep you posted. Hopefully by next girls trip, I will be down 3.2 pounds -- unless I decide to eat a piece of toast.

Hurry Up and Join my Decade!!

Ok, I'm officially 42. aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh. I guess I can at least still say I'm "close to 40" without disclosing which side of the number I'm actually on. ;) I can't say I really mind being in my 40s except for the perceived baggage that accompanies it. I only wish you all could please join me a little sooner since I've been hanging out here all by myself for 2 years now - not very thoughtful of you all is it??? However, I do believe I will have some company in 6 short months (Allison!). YIPPEE!!! BTW, Dinah, while I know you've been emotionally grounded in your 40s since your early 20s, nothing compares to actually 100% owning the decade in all aspects.

Christi, love that you are growing out your bangs! I cut off 8 inches last month and I. Love. It!

Allison, need more moving updates. Need to read more fabulousness.

Dinah, how many sugar cubes would be in the Sprinkles cupcake I just polished off for my post-birthday breakfast this morning (the CoffeeMate in my coffee was sugar free). Also, stop reading depressing political blogs.

Susan, I owe you for the hair courage, although you still own the "Sassy" label, I just don't look like I'm ready to audition for HeeHaw anymore. :)

Not Nonresponsive + Dermaswim

Hi ladies! This is fun - I love to hear from all of you. I replied to Susan's remark about getting the pool, but did so in the form of a "Comment," so now I see that in order to be considered "responsive" - it must be in the form of a brand new post! :)

Good Product: Dermaswim. The very best if you don't like chlorine. I bought it on-line, and loved it. I put it on my cuticles and around my mouth and got in the SMU pool and swam for an hour. If I had only been so diligent about the sunscreen . . . . Because the Dermaswim was oily like Vaseline or Aquaphor - it kept the water and chlorine from eating away at places that have been irritated in past swimming excursions - without leaving my face oily or with any kind of adverse side effect!

I have decided to let my bangs grow out - they've been bothering me - it is such a tedious process, and today, I am getting some layers to help with the process. Wish me luck! And have a great weekend!

Armband Fun

Well,

I don't have much to add but the blog felt lonely when I went on this morning. I am closely following the current political situation, but it often proves too stressful. So, I am reading and working on my iphone solitare -- bakers dozen version is very challenging. Hope all is well.

Can I call myself a "blogger" now?

This is so much fun!  I wish I had one of those armband things yesterday.  I probably could have consumed an entire large cheese pizza and 2 large fries along with the bottle of Pinot Grigio that I had for dinner with no guilt!  Drinking makes moving boxes so much more enjoyable!  It also helps you forget that the air conditioner in your brand new house isn't working properly.  The big square fans from Home Depot are so NOT Nate.

Kirsten how are you feeling?!  I can't wait to see you in a bikini and you to Dinah.  I hope all of those calories were burned without involving any exercise.  Where do I get one of those?!

XO

Glam Chicas!

Kirsten made it.

I could apologize for lumping Kirsten into the nonresponsive category -- since she just underwent major surgery. I will not, however; I think that my previous blog somehow got out into the world's energy, found its way to Kirsten, and prompted her to finally get with the program. For that, I need not apologize. So glad to hear from KA.

Since I know you are all curious, I have burned 950 calories today. Peace out.

Quit your whining!!!!

Finally figured out how to join and blog!!! I love this. :)

Ok, I too have to agree with Dinah on the photo postings. While I am loving the lack of wrinkles I was sporting from 7 years ago, those were actually when I was well over 30 weeks preggers with Caroline. While I do yearn for my face from my 30s, I could do without the bloat face. All I can say is thank god we are sitting!

BTW, I took some way cute photos from this year's trip so next up is trying to figure out how to upload those for you guys. Stay tuned!

You guys seriously make me laugh. :)

Possible Name Change to Blog

Allison,

Hope you are in your house. What a bummer about the A/C.

I am thinking of changing the name of this blog to DinahandAllisonAreWinnersEveryoneElseIsaNonresponsiveLoser.blogspot.com. Do you have any objections to this name change?

I also wanted to inform you that this is my first day wearing my GoWearFit contraption. It is like those armbands that the people from the Biggest Loser wear. It tells you fairly accurately how many calories you are burning per day. I think/hope this will make me reeavauate how many calories I am taking in.

I will let you know -- haven't you ever wondered how many calories you burn when you just sit?

Allison, keep us, I mean me, informed.

New House Update

OK...we had the "reveal" on Friday.  However, we still haven't slept there because suddenly the air conditioner upstairs quit working and no one seems able to fix it.  Did I mention that everything that could go wrong did go wrong.  We seem to be continuing the trend!

This Is What I Do

Me today at McDonald's making a local commercial.  It was with the "Gossip Girl" of Tampa so we said things like as hot as Nate Archibald and tasty like Chuck Bass.  How embarassing is that?

Seriously???

Allison,

I love that you have added your creative flair to the site. I am, however, highly displeased with the large photo that you chose to top the site. As you may recall, Kirsten and I were 20 months pregnant on that trip and, while I do fight the battle of the bulge, the additional 40 that I am carrying in that picture did not photograph as well as you might think. So, I am happy to keep that somewhere on the site, but would prefer it to be smaller or that there was some notation that I was pregnant and 40 pounds heavier than my current petite size. Otherwise, I love what you have done.
Good Luck with REVEAL!!!

Almost An Expert

Now I'm really having some fun!

It's A Go

I think I have figured out how to post!

IT Challenged

OK. Since I can't figure out how to post under my name, I'm forced to sign in as Dinah. Susan...a little help here! This is the week of the "installation" so I thought you would all get a kick out of what I'm doing while Nate and Company (mostly and Company) slave away at the move! I was actually banished from the property yesterday at 10am. And I was on my best behavior! I had to go to the house today to give a check to the cable guy and I was forced to do so from the driveway! In the meantime, I have tried to occupy my time and not drive everyone I come into contact with crazy. Much harder than it sounds. After 4 and 1/2 years of planning and everything that could go wrong, did go wrong....we will be sleeping there on Friday night. For those of you (Dinah) worried about Nate...he arrives from Milan right now. You know his boyfriend Brian Atwood is the designer for Bally and they have an apt. in Milan. Duh! Before I was banished, I was getting the scoop on some of his other projects in LA. As you can imagine they involved some famous people who are not very nice. Good stuff but I won't name names since I'm not ready for our blog to be on Inside Edition! Can't wait for you all to come visit. Does anyone know how to post photos on this?

Design

So fun -- Susan has blogged. I am with you, Susan, on swimming, but it's getting into the bathing suit and jumping in the pool that is the kicker.

On a slightly different note, I am obsessed with Allison's new house. I suggested that she wear a coal miner's hat with a light and camera on top when she gets the big "reveal" -- design lingo for the first time she walks in and it is all done -- so that I too can ooh and aah with her. She will need to post a full blog whatever with pictures when that happens! Until then, I am contenting myself with many TIVOD episodes of Design Inc and Sarah's House on the Fine Living Channel. She is incredible. She is from Toronto, so I love it when she says "PROE-Ject," "Hoese" and "Aboet" Go to her website and tivo her shows -- sarahrichardsondesign.com -- delightful. Susan and Allison, you will love her furniture section, I think.
Ok, love this blog thing. Attagirl Dinah. While I'm kind of real impressed by you setting up quickwitfriends, I'm WAY impressed by that healthy, all from scratch recipe you posted. I mean really. You did not learn that stuff in law school. My tip of the day is that we all need to start swimming. Sloan is doing swim team and he is devouring our entire pantry on a daily basis. The calorie burn from that sport is unreal. So we might end up looking like linebackers with our big shoulders, but I'll take it if I can eat anything and everything like that boy is doing...let's get in the water!
Christi,

You are so on it. Can you post by signing in? (just curious since I cannot tell from my screen)

Okay, I am going to post a recipe today. That is right -- a recipe. My kids love these and so do I and they have to better for us than a Keebler. My source is the Whole Foods flyer that they hand you at the store.

Cherry Orange Oatmeal Outdoors Bars

3 cups gluten-free rolled oats (Quaker Oats worked just fine -- just not the quick ones)
1/3 cup Smooth Almond Butte
1 cup of dried sour cherries or any other dried fruit (I used chocolate chips for my kid that does not like fruit)
1/2 cup orange juice
1/3 cup Wildlfower Honey
cinnamon to taste
1/2 tsp. salt -- more is always better
3 egg whites
2TB of finely ground flaxseed

Preheat oven to 350 degrees, spray 8 x 8 pan with oil. Mix everything by flaxseed together (may have to mush with hands like doing a meatloaf) Press firmly into pan. Bake until golden brown around the edges, about 35 minutes. Let cool a couple of minutes then sprinkle flaxseed over the top. Let cool completely and cut into bars.

200 calories per bar, 5 grams fat, 0 chol, 110 sodium, 6 grams fiber, 13 grams sugar, 7 grams protein.

First Entry into Blog

Hey Girls,

I think someone came up with this idea for us to keep in touch and relay are "beauty secrets" and other morsels of wisdom more frequently. Surely we miss a lot over the course of the year. I think it is a great idea and, because I needed someone to procrastinate this morning, I started this. I miss you guys and hope to hear from you soon. Love, Dinah
