Ugh. And I thought this was a safe haven....
The girls and I just made a batch of Nestle Toll House Cookie Dough (I am totally embarrassed to say that I know the recipe from memory). Jack has been at camp this week and so we thought, what better way to show our love and that we missed him than to polish off an entire batch of cookies on the way up in the car to get him tomorrow. Oh, sure , we'll save him a few. :)
My problem is this. There is seriously nothing better than that dough - threats of salmonella be d@mned. Having just polished off what seems like a cup of the fresh gooey dough, I am now thoroughly ill and I'm coming down with a migraine. I'm also thinking that I won't be able to look at any other food for at least a few hours.
So...I went to the one place I thought I'd be safe to feel so gross and gluttonous - my quick wit friends - only to be immediately bombarded by scary words and phrases like:
"Vegan" "Tofurkey" "Calorie counting armbands" and "Smart food choices."
Based on that reading, my only solace is the low protein involved here in my choice of breakfast foods this morning. Since there are only 2 eggs in the entire batch of dough, I couldn't possibly have consumed more than 1/2 a raw egg in total. I'm also hoping I get some points for the "raw" aspect of my poor food choice this morning. I heard that "raw" diets are all the rage in LA. I'm assuming raw cookie dough would be considered a suitable dessert on this diet, yes?
Ladies, if you are going to post such scary topics in the future, please post a warning at the top of the post.
xoxo
