It was so good to "hear" from Susan. My first secretary would always say, "DYYNA, Ms. Witless is on the phone for you!" I loved that. She would also cite my dictation very phonetically. For example, when I was working on a Catholic Church case, she would write "X-communicate" a lot.
With regards to eating, I made the kids yet another healthy meal of brown rice with apricots and mushrooms, edamame, etc. Henry looked up from his plate and asked me "what the main ingredient was here" and then told me,"You can do a lot better than this." His tone was one of utter disgust. Don't think I did not withold the yummy Quinoa coffee cake that I had prepared for an after dinner treat. Luckily for him, it was di-sgusting. I have decided that all "healthy" treats taste like crap -- the recipes usually describe them as having a "nutty flavor." "Nutty Flavor" is code for sh**ty - don't fall for the "nutty flavor" trap.
Bonus Tip of the Day: Be especially wary of abnormal flours -- quinoa flour, brown rice flour, tapioca flour. These flours are overpriced and crappy.
On a happy note, Kirsten has found Kombucha -- see earlier post regarding fermented tea -- would love to hear her description.
The good news about summer ending is that my shows are back on. Please take a moment to set your Tivo's for Bravo's Flipping Out and Lifetime's Project Runway -- Project Zoe on Bravo is also fantacit if you like idiot TV as I obviously do. In case you are wondering, I do not watch soap operas or TV during the day. I just tape these low brow shows and watch after Chris's narcolepsy has set in. I always let him have the flicker -- this gives me a lot of points -- and 85% of the time, he falls asleep within 10 minutes and I slowly remove the flicker and the tube is mine. Try it yourself one night.
Hope all is well with you girls and hope these tips will improve your quality of life,
Dinah
