Christi,

You are so on it. Can you post by signing in? (just curious since I cannot tell from my screen)

Okay, I am going to post a recipe today. That is right -- a recipe. My kids love these and so do I and they have to better for us than a Keebler. My source is the Whole Foods flyer that they hand you at the store.

Cherry Orange Oatmeal Outdoors Bars

3 cups gluten-free rolled oats (Quaker Oats worked just fine -- just not the quick ones)
1/3 cup Smooth Almond Butte
1 cup of dried sour cherries or any other dried fruit (I used chocolate chips for my kid that does not like fruit)
1/2 cup orange juice
1/3 cup Wildlfower Honey
cinnamon to taste
1/2 tsp. salt -- more is always better
3 egg whites
2TB of finely ground flaxseed

Preheat oven to 350 degrees, spray 8 x 8 pan with oil. Mix everything by flaxseed together (may have to mush with hands like doing a meatloaf) Press firmly into pan. Bake until golden brown around the edges, about 35 minutes. Let cool a couple of minutes then sprinkle flaxseed over the top. Let cool completely and cut into bars.

  1. oh, this is loads of fun! oh the first page (post), it didn't have this box that says "Post a Comment" - I could not figure out how to reply. Susan, can you read this and do you have the post a comment box? Looks like someone will have to start something, and then we all have the opportunity to comment. Your recipe looks delicious, Dinah. What a great idea to start this - thanks for acting on it!!!!
